It’s that time of year again! Thanksgiving! “The holidays bring out my sentimental, creative side that makes me want to create a special environment for those near and dear to me,” says Tiffany LeBlanc, Founder of LeBlanc Design Interiors.
Thanksgiving is around the corner. Why not try an original approach, mix it up bit, and give it a modern flair? Offer your favorite appetizers along with a signature cocktail like a Moscow Mule, or mulled wine. Perhaps serve the Thanksgiving meal tapas style, with smaller plates and more of a variety of veggies and garnishes alongside the traditional turkey. Fireball cupcakes can finish off the night with a new twist, and boozy desserts could provide a delicious counterpoint – for the adults, of course!
As for the dining table, keep it simple by using a colorful tablecloth and natural decorative elements such as small gourds, autumn branches, and seasonal flowers. Varying the heights of the glassware and decorations will keep it more interesting.
Don’t forget that music sets the tone – maybe upbeat Jazz, Diana Krall, or a dinner music mix that creates ambiance yet allows for conversation.
The most important thing is to keep the focus on the company and the meaning of Thanksgiving. One way to ensure this essential element is not forgotten is to have every guest write an entry into a “Thankful Book.” Taking a few minutes to focus on what they are most thankful for in their lives brings the true spirit of the holiday alive in a unique way and provides a never-ending source of joy in future years.
Happy Thanksgiving!
