Harbor High-Rise

A harbor is a place where one returns from voyaging to find quiet and rest, to reconnect with the familiar, to tell the stories of what you’ve seen. The same can be said of this high-rise overlooking Boston Harbor, where the homeowners make their Boston residence.

Here, perched above the city rush, Boston interior designer Tiffany LeBlanc set out to create an interior as captivating as the view out the floor-to-ceiling windows.

“This project presented an interesting challenge,” LeBlanc says, “We had to thoughtfully balance the large windows with our client’s desire for an intimate feeling space.”

In the living room and hallways, a Venetian plaster finish gives the home an airiness befitting its elevated position. Meanwhile, artwork sourced from New York City galleries brings a sense of playful vibrancy to the living area. Custom millwork using birdseye maple completes the den.

Enter the master bedroom, and the mood eases into sophisticated serenity, the bed’s custom-upholstered headboard nestling into silk-fabric walls. In the master bath, a custom white oak vanity catches your eye. That is if the dramatic patterns in the Calacatta marble shower and vanity top don’t first.

In this high-rise retreat, there’s always another purposeful element to be found — a kitchen island of semi-precious stones with a waterfall edge, gold leaf ombre wallpaper in the guest bedroom, a sink carved from a single block of marble in the powder room — and always another view to marvel at.
