How To Decorate Your Small Space

How To Decorate Your Small Space

Decorating and designing a small space such as an apartment, urban condo or bonus room can be very difficult. Overcrowding and disorganization often happens while trying to furnish these small spaces. However, here are some tips and tricks on decorating and organizing your small area to maximize your space.

Mirrors

One easy way to make your small space look so much larger is to incorporate mirrors or other reflective surfaces. This will elongate your room and make it seem open and airy. Another benefit of mirrors is it brings in nice, natural light that will fill the space!

TV

TV’s can take up a lot more room than expected. Instead of putting the TV on a stand, a good way to save space is to wall-mount it. This will allow you to use the floor space that a TV stand used to take up. Using a TV like the Samsung Frame allows for artwork to be displayed when not in use to provide for a dual function for showcasing artwork as well.

Vertical Storage

With smaller spaces, maximizing floor space is essential. Sometimes it is hard not to overcrowd the small space will all the essential furniture. To minimize the risk of overcrowding, think about installing floating shelving for your wall instead of using side tables or bookcases. Wall shelving creates an open, airy space as well as provides storage.

Hang Your Curtains High

This will trick the mind into thinking that the ceilings are high and ultimately that your space is bigger than it is. In addition to this, use lighter colors for your curtains. White curtains are the best for creating the illusion of a larger space.
